Environmental and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Medeco advocates the environmental policy statement of the NEFEMED and actively participates in the Packaging Covenant in the Netherlands. Together with our suppliers, we strive to reduce packaging materials and to apply environmentally friendly product materials. That is why our official paper and envelopes features the FSC hallmark.

Production of our products is contracted out to suppliers. Where possible, we opt for ISO 14001 certified producers. We also assess the social criteria of our producers. This means that the fundamental employment standards of the ILO and supplementary international employment and human rights standards are applied.

Social involvement

As a supplier of medical devices, we have great affinity with human welfare. All activities undertaken by us so far within the scope of corporate social responsibility have been in health care.

Think in terms of assistance in case of disasters. We have regularly supplied medical aid such as bandages and latex gloves in emergency situations, following the tsunami disaster in South-East Asia for example. We also provide financial support for small-scale projects in developing countries, such as water supplies on Cape Verde. Moreover, we work closely with various patient and interest groups.
